Bank Muscat
Bank Muscat was established in 1982 as Oman Overseas Trust Bank, a joint venture between the Omani government and HSBC, and has grown into the country’s largest bank by assets, with more than 170 branches and over two million customers. That scale called for a branch anchored in local visual language rather than the anonymous glass-and-steel default — geometric screens and a saturated red palette drawn from Omani craft.
Bank Muscat — Branch
Laser-cut geometric screens in white, red, and gold stand in for a curtain wall, filtering the branch’s street-facing glass into fragments of pattern rather than a single flat plane. A dark timber beam ceiling runs the length of the banking hall above red sofas and cream wingback chairs, grounding the saturated palette in something more textural. At the teller line, a matching red wall and screen panel repeat the entrance motif in miniature, so the geometry carries through from the street to the counter.
